Chicago Baroque Ensemble was formed in 1993 to perform music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries on period instruments. To date the Ensemble has presented five seasons of critically acclaimed, sold-out concerts as well as seven live broadcast concerts for WFMT radio. In April 1995, the Ensemble appeared in a program of Purcell anthems with His Majestie's Clerkes. In June 1995, the Ensemble made its debut at the Boston Early Music Festival.

Welcome to Chicago Baroque Ensemble's eighth season of music-making. This season has presented the Ensemble with an unusual number of opportunities to join forces with other Chicago area organizations to perform in very special occasions. Many of Chicago's leading arts organizations will be presenting CBE's seasoned mix of inspired performances and original programming to new audiences.
